WITHOUT
QUESTION, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INVENTIONS IN HUMAN HISTORY
IS THE COMPUTER.
-ANONYMOUS
Mrs.
Bolen welcomes you to our computer lab. The computer lab is housed in
the same building as the library. There are 25 computers in the lab.
All students in PreK, K and grades 1 - 8 receive a minimum of 30 minutes of
computer instruction each week. Students also use the Lab at other times
during the week to complete classroom tasks or research projects. The
internet is used for locating materials and researching topics.
STAR Reading Assessment
Each
student is administered the STAR Reading Test to determine the student's reading
level and range. The students take this test on the computer. The
test takes about ten minutes to complete and adjusts continually to each
students response pattern. If the response is correct, the difficulty
level is increased. Should the student miss a question, the difficulty
level is reduced. The STAR Reading Test is administered to each student at
the beginning and the end of the year.
May God Bless You,
Cindy Bolen
