From the Principal's Desk

This year has gone by quickly. Thank you to everyone (students, parents, teachers/staff) for making it such a great year. A big thank you to our teachers who will be leaving us: Miss Anna Moore, Mr. Tom O'Donnell, Mrs. Mary Carter, and Mrs. Rose Farnell. They have done a fabulous job and we will miss them. We wish them well in their future endeavors.

Congratulations to Lucas who received the Midtown Optimist Club's Junior Citizenship Award.

A reminder to those whose children will be with use next year: The Family Assessment Fee is due by June 1st. We still need some signatures on FACTS forms for next year.

The St. Vincent de Paul PTO will be holding a Used Uniform and Book Sale, in the Parish Hall, on Thursday, May 29, from noon to 6:00pm. Students do not need to come in uniform on Thursday, May 29, or on Friday, May 30. This will enable parents to prepare uniforms that are to be sold.

We want to run cable TV to the classrooms. We need someone who knows about splitters and running cable. If you can help, please call us.

Remember that we will not be serving lunch on Thursday or Friday, May 29 and May 30.

Congratulations to our new PTO Officers for next year: Brandy Goleman, President; Angeline Freeman, Vice-President; and Nancy Tomas, Secretary/Treasurer. They are already busy making plans for next year.

Congratulations to our six students who received Achievement Awards for their hard work this year with the McGill-Toolen Elementary School Band.

Summer Reading and Supply Lists

In this week's Wednesday folders, we have included for you copies of the supply lists for next school year. Hopefully, having them early will help you find things as school supplies go on sale or you can buy them in August during the week there is no sales tax.

Also included in this week's folders are the summer reading lists. Please be sure that your child is an active reader during the summer and that he/she keeps his/her reading log current. Encourage your child to read throughout the summer and not to wait until right before school starts.

If for some reason, you misplace these lists during the summer months, they are available on the school's website just return to the homepage to find the necessary links to download what you need.

Summer Office Hours

The School Office will be open the following hours during the summer:

June 2-6: Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

June 11- July 30: Wednesdays only 8:00-3:00 pm

June 30 - July 11: Office Closed

August 4 - 11: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

August 12 - First Day of School (half day): 7:30 am to noon
