From the Principal's Desk

Congratulations to our new School Board members: Lisa Hurm, Joanne Postles, and Robert Vance.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society is conducting its annual Lenten Food Drive.  We are asking each student to bring in a canned good or a non perishable food item before March 12.  These items will go into our own parish food pantry.  This is our attempt to feed Christ's poor.

Our next tutoring session will be on Wednesday, March 10, and it will concentrate on Math.

Confirmation will be held tonight at 6:30 pm.  Archbishop Rodi will be here.

St. Vincent is teaming up with Keep Mobile Beautiful and Goodwill Easter Seals for a Clothing Drive.  Clean out your closets and donate your give-away items to Goodwill.  Just take your used clothing items to any Goodwill location and send your blue receipt to school.

The Booster Club will be holding its next Fish Fry on Friday, March 5, from 5:00-8:00.  They will be serving fried fish, coleslaw, baked beans, french fries, hush puppies, iced tea, and dessert.  The cost of the meal is $7.00.

Thanks to those who supported our last Beef O'Brady Day. Tomorrow night is Godfather's Pizza Night.

We will be having two class luncheons this month: Kindergarten, on Tuesday, March 9, and 1st grade, on Thursday, March 25. The reservation form for the Kindergarten luncheon is enclosed.

Spring Festival Information

The Parish is making plans for its annual Spring Festival, on Sunday, April 18.  The Festival will be held from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Mrs. Merle Tant is chairing this event.  If you are interested in helping her, just give the school office a call.

All of the classes will be performing, beginning at 11:00.  Teachers will send home specifics about dress for their acts.

Room mothers will be contacting you about working in the booths and about the class baskets for the Silent Auction.  If you have anything to donate or know any business that might donate a gift certificate for the Silent Auction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Family sponsors are available for $25.  With this, you get 2 spaghetti dinners, 5 raffle tickets, and 50 game tickets (10 more by April 13).

Iowa Test of Basic Skills

The Iowa Test of Basic Skills will be administered to students grades 2-8, beginning on Monday, March 1.

In this week's Wednesday folders, we have included flyers with "Eleven Tips to Help Your Child Prepare for Tests".  Please take some time to read the flyer.  Be sure your child gets a good night's sleep and a good breakfast during test week.
