Dear Parents,
This Sunday is Burse Club Sunday in our parishes. The Burse Club was started to provide for the education of the seminarians of our archdiocese. Each classroom throughout our school system has been asked to become a member. There are annual dues of $12, which amounts to $0.75 per child for our classroom. With our membership, we are supporting and participating in the education of the future priests of our church. The benfits are many, including begin remembered in the daily prayers of the monks at Saint Bernard Abbey. Would you please allow your child to bring in the donation by this Friday? I will send our group membership in on Sunday at Mass.
There is a Big Red Ticket enclosed in the folders today. It is from the Mobile Symphony Orchestra for your child. It is admission to your choice of one of the four concerts given this season. All Concerts are on Sunday. the first, September 23, is Disney Tunes. November 11, is Beethoven and Blue Jeans. the december 16 performance is Holiday Pops. The performance on February 17 is entitled Legendary Love. There is a description of the concerts and more information in the Bay Family section of the newspaper your child has brought home today.
Permission slips from Providence Hospital are also in the folders. These are for vision and hearing screening. If you wish your child to participate, the slips must be completed and returned.
Our social studies, chapter two, test and spelling test have been moved to Thursday. We neded just a little more time to review. I will send the corrected tests home on Thursday with your child.
